As the chill of autumn settles over the mountains, we spend a peaceful day preparing for winter — cutting and stacking wood for the fireplace, wandering through the forest in search of mushrooms, and gathering châtaignes (chestnuts) hidden under golden leaves.
On our way home, we stop by the charming mountain village of Sospel, where we enjoy a hearty lunch in a small family restaurant filled with warmth and local flavors. Back home, the day ends by the fire as we cook a simple omelet with the mushrooms we’ve just found — a true taste of the season.
