Hi Friends,

This week I wanted to share my thoughts on the Archdiocese paying out about 880 million to settle lawsuits with survivors of the church over the last couple decades. Los Angeles is just the most recent high profile case where the church has to admit fault and pay people out. Another high profile unveiling of the church's misconduct and cover ups was in Boston.

If you've never seen the movie Spotlight starring Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, and Rachel McAdams it is an incredible telling of the group that spotlighted the church and uncovered a terrifying reality. A system of coverups, of taking advantage of the trust that parishioners have in their priests, their archbishops, their pope.

It is incredibly brave for survivors to come forward and tell the world a horrifying truth about someone, or even a group of people we have been conditioned to trust and love.

It's my sincere hope and prayer that this is just the beginning of justice served.
