Code foils 1725 S first paddle ups & 980S 1300S board swaps

No point showing you pro’s paddling up new the code 1725S, so here’s, (in order), myself, @roddhughes and @nickjones0001 on legit, our first paddles ups. I’d put myself as experienced, but not a pro, Rod learning DW and paddling up, Nick having great success on 1300 and now 1130. I’m 86kg, Rod similar and Nick I think 75 ish for reference. Add 5 kg of wet 4/3mm wetsuits.

Conditions were cross on 12-16 knots of dropping wind. Nice friendly bumps, great for learning testing 1725S

The first you notice is how stable the 1725 makes your board feel, it’s bigger mass, acts like a keel and will give beginner/intermediates the stability they need to get up on their board, stay up, paddle around and put power down.

I was grateful the Code guys where able to maintain a smaller leading edge, than other ‘big foils’, which allows it to gain speed through the water quickly, not draggy with a big LE and tap straight into that amazing bottom end to paddle up. This is definitely your first SUP foil and or wing foil, if you haven’t paddle before, so smooth, stable and confidence building.

I only had a small stab on it, 120R, with a small fuse, but I’d actually recommend a medium fuse and then stab of choice based on weight, skill and goals 142/150AR. You’ll notice I adjust my feet once up, as for me, I had the foil a bit too far back, but that’s the great thing about a bigger foil, it gives you more opportunities to get up and stay up. It also had a nice flow/surfy feel when you’re balanced and know how to turn a big foil, it also was not slow when up and happily sat on these bumps, matching their speed really will, so yo can just sit and glide and for a beginner just paddling up, catch your breath.

The guys used my @bentardrew80 7’8” x 17.5” x 115L, which they all agreed felt great.
