The Affordable Care Act Part 1 | What did it even change? | Health Insurance Deep Dive Ep 3.1

U.S. Health insurance Is messy, confusing, and in desperate need of change. The affordable care act, or “Obamacare” as it became known, was supposed to be revolutionary for the United States Healthcare system and in some was it was. But in others, we just got more of the same problems as before. Of course, with any new system, there will be problems to sort out before the real benefits can be seen.

In the first part of the third episode of my U.S. Health Insurance Deep Dive Series. I will introduce the Affordable Care Act and the changes it made to our health insurance system 90 days post signing, 180 days post signing, one year post signing and four years post signing.

The law itself is over 900 pages of confusing and utterly mind boggling legal jargon and the impacts it had on healthcare, finances, and people are so numerous. I had to split the video up or else we would have been here for two hours. Stay tuned for an in depth breakdown of the finances behind the system, how it works, and how it affected everyday people and the healthcare they could receive.
