This song is from my first Petra album. Most people remember Petra as an 80 hard rock almost hair metal Christian band, but this album was all over the place with mellow ballads and funky songs like this one.

CCM in the 70s was not a formula, it reflected the culture and music of the day. It was not mainstream, it was countercultural and not excepted by the church. We continue to live in a time where music about our faith journey needs to be countercultural and not part of the main stream. Taste and see the Lord is good. The Lord will direct us if we have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.
