Copycat Killer started off as a really incredible show. It's a crime drama that puts so much time and attention into the minute details of every character's identity. Every villain and victim all share similarities that contribute to the overall theme of the show. And theme of family is so well developed and explored throughout this Taiwanese drama. But for some reason, the later half of the show falters in some really disappointing ways, particularly with the introduction of the new central antagonist. The theming of the show, which used to be one of it's most impressive aspects, quickly becomes a second priority to whatever is most shocking. And through that dichotomy, this show is a fascinating example of how to theme a crime drama, while also providing a cautionary tale on what to avoid.
