650 kilometers East of Darwin, in the Gulf of Carpenteria you will find Australia's third largest island, Groote Eylandt, home to the Warindilyakwa people. Na-ngurrkwena 'They Hunted' contains raw footage that has been collected over a period of several months at a variety of different locations of a group of teenage boys from the community of Angurugu on Groote Eylandt. The video is called Na-ngurrkwena, which means "they hunted" in Anindilyakwa, as we are raising awareness around the importance, strength, empowerment and positivity that on country trips and practice of language & culture bring to local indigenous young people of Australia.
