🎸 My first ever guitar cover: Deftones' iconic track My Own Summer (Shove It) from the album Around the Fur (1997).
I’ve always loved Stephen Carpenter’s tone and groove, so I wanted to recreate that thick, gritty wall of sound that defined this era of Deftones.
🎧 Gear used:
Guitar: Legator Ninja 7 (7-string)
Tuning: Drop G (equivalent to Drop C on a 6-string)
Amp Sim: GarageBand “Brown Tone Metal” (custom tweaked)
Audio Interface: Focusrite Scarlett
🔥 Double-tracked guitars, tight noise gate, and no reverb: just raw, heavy Deftones tone.
