Super Mario Bros. contains an option hidden inside the game's debug menu to start a procedural generated acid trip mode, a joke on Mario consuming lots of mushrooms. For unknown reasons, the mode also gives Mario an item that allows Mario to teleport, similar to the portal gun from Valve's Portal series released a little over 24 years later. Despite the difficulties introduced by the mode, we can beat the game in a staggering 1 minute and 13.28 seconds.
One could say making this was a real trip.

This is a tool assisted speedrun. It has been created by slowing down the games to extremely slow speeds and with save states to create a theoretically perfect run of the game. This is not aiming to compete with regular runs performed by humans.
