Atomic Dust Dance is a fantastic line that follows the currents of the Atlantic Ocean. Put up by Jane Bull and Micheal Ritchey in 1992 during the second wave of Baldy Point development, this line links up into the tricky finish of Power Grip. Which was named after the batting resin used in lieu of chalk on the first ascent. Imagine not having 7 different locations to buy chalk in the metro!
I had saved this one for a while and despite it being warmer than I had planned, and my buddy just whipping on it, I decided to go for the lead. After all, most everything here seems to have been put up in the heat.
The bonus botch today is Saturn. Another climb I’ve been saving for a high valued 5.11 flash. Well after spending 12 minutes on my tip toes navigating the crux I found myself too tired to- wait. You’re supposed to watch the video and I’m not supposed to give it all away!
