Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the Union Budget 2025-26, making history with her eighth consecutive budget speech. This budget brings important changes to boost the economy, manage government spending, and support businesses.
Simpler Taxes: The government has removed 7 extra tax rates, leaving only 8 tax slabs.
Fiscal Deficit Control: The government plans to reduce its debt, setting the deficit at 4.8% for 2025 and 4.4% for 2026.
Easier Business Rules: Over 100 laws will be simplified to help businesses grow without legal troubles.
More Foreign Investment in Insurance: Foreign companies can now own 100% in Indian insurance firms (earlier, the limit was 74%).
Better Infrastructure: Private companies can now access PM Gati Shakti data for faster development projects.
Support for Women & Children: Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0 will provide better nutrition and care.
Boost for Farmers: A Makhana Board will be set up in Bihar to help with processing and marketing.
