DIY Tutorial: Candle Decoration with Napkin Technique

Hello dear crafting friends!
Today, we will show you how to decorate a candle with the napkin technique. You will need the following materials:

a white candle
a napkin or a printed handkerchief with the desired motif
scissors
craft glue (preferably plain white craft glue or PVA glue)
small brush
a sheet of wax paper

Step 1:
Cut out the motif
First, we cut out the desired motif from the napkin or handkerchief. Make sure to cut as accurately as possible. If necessary, reduce the size of the motif with scissors.

Step 2:
Separate the top layer of the napkin
Since napkins are three-layered, we only need the top layer that is printed. Carefully separate it from the other layers.

Step 3:
Glue the motif onto the candle
Now comes the most challenging part: gluing the motif onto the candle. Place the motif on the candle and see where it looks best. Draw an outline around the motif with a pencil and then apply glue carefully to this outline. Be careful not to use too much glue.

Step 4:
Attach the motif to the candle
Now, you carefully stick the motif onto the candle. Roll it smooth with a handkerchief or a similar cloth to make the glue adhere better. Also, do not use too much glue here.

Step 5:
Let the glue dry
Allow the glue to dry completely.

Step 6:
Seal the motif
Now, the motif must be sealed. To do this, cut a piece of wax paper to fit the motif. Place the wax paper over the motif and use a hairdryer on the hot setting to melt it onto the candle. Secure the wax paper with clamps, so you don't burn your fingers. Make sure that the motif is clearly visible through the wax paper.

Step 7:
Let it cool down
Allow the wax paper to cool completely.

Step 8:
Carefully remove the cooled wax paper.

Finished!
Your candle with napkin technique is now ready and looks great for sure.
