On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the city of La Porte conducted a weekly test of their outdoor warning system. The test consisted of a 1 minute whoop.
La Porte recently got two new Modulators to replace dead Whelens on their system. This is the one at Farrington Fields and was its second ever test. It's not the loudest siren in the world but it was decent from up close.
The Whelen on the right shorted out really bad and hasn't activated since about October, so they invested in replacing it with these instead of repairing it, which is fair.
The system now runs on CommanderOne, so all sirens sound exactly as they need to, with ease. No more late tests. This was a great time and it was awesome meeting up with everyone.
@OMNIWARN strikes again.
