#29. The Blooming Blessings

This was a significant order placed through my Etsy shop, one that I knew had to be both meaningful and beautiful—a gift from a grandmother to her granddaughter for her wedding. Since my customer lives in the U.S. and I reside in Canada, the time available for the creation process was limited. To clarify, I only work when inspiration strikes, and I never push myself to create when I’m tired, as I hold myself to very high-quality standards.

Another fascinating aspect was discovering the unique jewelry my customer had. Normally, I work with brooches featuring flowers, animals, and other familiar shapes, but this time was different. Most of the jewelry had geometric forms, which challenged me to fully engage my creativity and imagination to incorporate them into one cohesive bouquet. I also learned so much throughout this process: about vintage jewelry, gemstones, the country of origin, the artist, the year of manufacture, and even the value of the pieces. It was an absolute pleasure to create this artwork!

A huge thank you to my customer, who sent the jewelry promptly, allowing me to dive into the project right away. The customer was a pleasure to work with: quick to respond and a joy to collaborate with, which made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. Everything exceeded my expectations, and interestingly enough, I felt such an exciting drive while working on the art that, at times, I almost couldn’t bring myself to stop!
