In this video, we present the results of a study on the accuracy of indicative boundary lines available on the Geoservices platform of the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). The research was conducted in Manado City using the Grid-Index method to evaluate the consistency of administrative boundaries compared to the latest true orthophoto data.
🔎 Key topics discussed:
The importance of accurate administrative boundaries for regional governance.
Comparison of the 2023 indicative boundary data with the 2024 orthophoto.
Classification of boundary alignment levels: consistent, inconsistent, missing segments, and unidentifiable.
Results of the analysis of 228 grids in Manado City, including dominant findings on natural vs. man-made boundaries.
Policy recommendations for updating boundary data in Indonesia.
💡 This study highlights that natural boundaries are dynamic and prone to change, so local governments together with BIG need to carry out regular updates supported by the latest geospatial technologies.
