These terms (hand wired, point-to-point, and circuit board wired) are often used but seldom explained. I thought it would be helpful to explain what I know. Part 1 goes over hand wired construction and part 2 covers circuit board- based amplifiers and some contrasting between the two methods. Feel free to leave comments to add to what’s here or corrections, but please remember the main points are the advantages and disadvantages of each amplifier approach, not an explanation of how an amplifier works.
