Founded in 1802, Lawrenceburg was named for the maiden name of the wife of founder Samuel C. Vance. Lawrenceburg, Indiana is the river town that wouldn't give up. Battered by multiple floods in the 1800s and early 1900s, this town has come back and is now a historic jewel along the Ohio River.
