oh no, cellulite is trending

uh oh, cellulite is trending. this is not good news for the beauty industry and those who profit off women's insecurities! as far as beauty standards go, cellulite is fairly new. after all, prior to the 1960s, women's clothes was designed to cover us up - heck, even showing your ANKLES was considered raunchy in the 1800s! So even if we had cellulite, no one knew about it. it wasn't until the 1960s when women's clothes started becoming more revealing that suddenly cellulite was given a name, and the marketing and beauty industries realised that money could be made. create a problem (in this case, cellulite) create the solution (anti cellulite products). but cellulite is NOT a flaw. our bodies are intelligent creations, and our cellulite is there for a reason. it's not something to get rid of! as much as social media USED to make it look like the rich and famous had nothing but silky smooth texture free skin, cellulite is now trending. no more are we going to great efforts to hide it, under long skirts and longer shorts, or airbrushing it out, now we're trying to show it off. kendall jenner, kylie jenner, bella hadid, gigi hadid, iskra lawrence, ashley graham - women of all different shapes and sizes have it, let's cellebrate our beautiful bodies intelligent design!
