This video is for anyone aged 55 and over who wants to recognise scams more easily and feel safer using their phone, email and the internet. It is also useful for carers and family members who support older Australians.
In this session, we walk through real‑world style examples of:
Scam text messages (SMS) and emails
Fake links and dodgy websites
Phone calls from “banks”, “tech support” or “government”
Simple rules to follow when something doesn’t feel right
By the end, you’ll know a few easy questions to ask yourself before you click, tap or respond – so you can pause, check, and stay in control.

👥 About this training & face‑to‑face sessions
This video is part of a scam awareness training program designed for people aged 55+ who use mobile phones, tablets and computers in everyday life. It is delivered by a local IT professional who regularly works with seniors and their families.
If you are in Australia and would like face‑to‑face scam awareness training or a 1‑on‑1 tech safety check on your own phone or computer, contact Jim’s IT Penrith for local support and group workshop options.
If you tell the approximate real timestamps (e.g. where “texts”, “emails”, “phone calls” actually start), this can be tweaked so the chapter list matches your video exactly.
