Nucleic acid or polynucleotide are made when nucleotides are joined together.
Repeated units of nucleotides make Nucleic acid or we can say that nucleotides are building blocks of Nucleic acid.
Nucleotides have 3 components
Nitrogenous bases
Pentose sugar
Phosphate group
All these three units when joined together with bonds make a nucleotide,
Nitrogenous bases are of two types
Purines and pyrimidines
Purines have Adenine and guanine and thymidine has cytosine
Uracil and thymidine.
