Samuel Abban (@USDA-ARS-Bee Research Lab)
Samuel Abban is a Support Scientist at the Bee Research Lab in Beltsville Maryland. He oversees the daily operations of the Bee Disease Diagnostics Lab, offering complimentary testing for common honey bee pests and diseases. Since its establishment in the early 1900’s, the laboratory has been committed to this service. The lab handles over 2,000 samples annually, providing essential diagnostics for parasitic mites, gut parasites, and two major bacterial diseases. With over a decade of experience at the Lab, Sam plays a crucial role in assisting beekeepers and inspectors nationwide in monitoring and managing diseases and pests in honey bee colonies.
