Solid surfcasting action along the New Zealand coast, with a good mix of species and a catch-and-cook to finish.
This video brings together the best moments from two recent surfcasting trips. The first session delivered plenty of gurnard action before the weather turned, along with an unexpected rig on the final cast. The second trip was a solo mission, kicking off with a hard-fighting rig and my first kahawai of the season.
To wrap things up, there’s some filleting and cooking — deep-fried gurnard and rig, followed by fresh kahawai sashimi.
