What does Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" have to do with Easter? In this Easter special, we explore the theme of resurrection through the lens of Victor Frankenstein’s tragic experiment. While Easter traditionally celebrates the hopeful resurrection of Jesus, "Frankenstein" offers a darker reflection on what it means to bring the dead back to life.
Through close readings of key passages, we examine Victor’s ambitions, the ethical boundaries of science, and the emotional aftermath of the creation for both creator and created being. We also explore a few biblical references as well as the subtitle "The Modern Prometheus".
