With clouds covering the mountain valley it sits in, the ruins at Delphi are in a particularly epic setting. Switchback paths snake up the side of the hill through the ancient town and we walked them slowly, stopping often to take it all in. A few tour groups went by with the usual hit-and-run speed, but crowds were light.
I keep saying Greece is going to make me Think Big Thoughts with its ruins and historic sites and their impact on civilization, and this one is no different. What portents would the Oracle gift me with? Or burden me with? I don't know, but the view and the site are worth it.
