As Independent Patient Advocates, we recognize the urgent need to address healthcare disparities and promote health equity for vulnerable populations. This session explores practical strategies for making advocacy and resources more accessible, including free initial consultations and resource sharing.

Attendees will gain insights into implementing no-cost programs and practical ways to close the divide in accessibility to advocacy services. By the end of the session, participants will have tangible resources and strategies to integrate into their practices, promoting greater health equity and trust within the community.

*Learning Objectives:* Attendees will leave with a solid understanding of the Patient Advocate’s role in achieving health equity and the ability to:
1. Demonstrate a working knowledge of nationwide health disparities and the social determinants that prevent millions of patients from accessing quality medical care.
2. Integrate sustainable practices such as free consultations, social service referrals, and resource sharing into an existing advocacy practice.
3. Formulate network partnerships with local and statewide free or low-cost programs and services.
4. Understand the profession’s Code of Ethics regarding Health Equity and Accessibility of Independent Health Advocacy Services.
