India has banned the use of Chinese-owned or Chinese-linked satellites in its broadcast and communication networks to protect national security and strengthen digital sovereignty. Under the IN-SPACe and MIB directive, all broadcasters must migrate to Indian GSAT or trusted foreign satellites like Intelsat by March 2026. Major networks such as Zee and JioStar have already begun the transition through a dual illumination phase to avoid service disruption. This move ends dependence on Chinese infrastructure, prevents security risks like espionage, and boosts India’s self-reliance in satellite communication. It represents a strategic step toward a secure and independent digital future.

ভারত তার সম্প্রচার ও যোগাযোগ নেটওয়ার্কে চীনা মালিকানাধীন বা সংযুক্ত স্যাটেলাইট ব্যবহারে নিষেধাজ্ঞা জারি করেছে জাতীয় নিরাপত্তা ও ডিজিটাল সার্বভৌমত্ব রক্ষার লক্ষ্যে। IN-SPACe ও তথ্য ও সম্প্রচার মন্ত্রণালয়ের নির্দেশে সব সংস্থাকে মার্চ ২০২৬-এর মধ্যে ভারতীয় GSAT বা বিশ্বস্ত বিদেশি স্যাটেলাইটে স্থানান্তর করতে হবে। Zee ও JioStar ইতিমধ্যেই ডুয়াল ইলুমিনেশন পর্যায়ে এই প্রক্রিয়া শুরু করেছে। এর ফলে চীনা অবকাঠামোর ওপর নির্ভরতা শেষ হবে এবং নিরাপত্তা ঝুঁকি হ্রাস পাবে। এটি ভারতের যোগাযোগ খাতে স্বনির্ভরতা ও কৌশলগত শক্তি বৃদ্ধির এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ।
