This is one method to forge several different 4 pointed throwing blades.. This video is Senban oriented with creating the Half moon.
This video is for traditional swelled tips vs flat blades though with little change in peening the blades can be made flat..
Of note. Once the shuriken is forged to basic size and thickness it is cold worked to create strength and hardness.. Cleaned and sharpened..
The blade then would be heated, brushed (cleaned) and then cold work the tips again.. The heating creates the blackened color of the newly filed metal.. Thus giving it softer edges with sharp points..
This video is for target pointed longer points that will stick in vs combat points which are shorter an will not stick in a hard target as consistently no matter how hard they are thrown, unless using a very soft target..
