A poor quality VHS recording of a video my Dad recorded in August 1997 of a flight he made over Skipton in his De Havilland Tiger Moth (R-5172) with his wife Kath in the front passenger seat. He was 74 years old and had purchased this particular moth in 1992 from Shoreham when he was 69 years old. It is Moth he had flown once previously when he was stationed at Carlisle at the end of the War in 1946. The Tiger Moth was undergoing paint restoration work at the time hence it still had its 'silver wings'. Ken's grandchildren are featured in the end credits, all now in their 20's and 30s. Hope you enjoy some of the atmosphere created by this short video in an open cockpit Tiger Moth! The Aircraft was kept at Sherburn Airfield during this period but can now be flown from Great Yarmouth Heliport as part of the 'Finest Hour' flying experiences which can be purchased through their website.
