Engage and destroy the downed Mi-8 Hip and hostile ground elements before the convoy/rescue can recover personnel

A bright flare on the horizon marks a rare and brutal opportunity — a crippled Mi-8 stuck just over the border with enemy troops attempting to secure the site. Nightshade 1 and escort elements lift into the cold air with one order: deny the enemy that rescue and stop any reinforcements from reaching the crash zone.

This is close-in helicopter work — fast, precise, and unforgiving. The Huey will use nap-of-earth ingress to close the range, then conduct coordinated pop-up attack runs: twin miniguns to shred exposed personnel and vehicle soft targets, rocket salvos to destroy the wreck and break up formations, and door gunners to keep flanks covered during the egress.

Phase Plan — quick and deadly

Ingress (stealth): Terrain-masked approach at low altitude. Recon drones/spotters confirm enemy positions and mark hazards.
Kill-Box Entry: Nightshade 1 times a synchronized pop-up with wingman to saturate the crash site — minigun on exposed troops, rockets on the hip and any vehicle clusters.
Suppress & Isolate: Door gunners lay suppressive fire while rockets finish hardened points. Break any attempted reinforcement routes.
Egress (violent): Immediate deep-cover breakaway into masking terrain. Avoid linger — MANPADS and AAA will be lethal if given time.
Contingency: If shooters or heavy AAA pin the Huey, abort to safe distance and call for fixed-wing SEAD or CAS. If survivors spotted and mission commander authorizes, return only after area is secured.
