B2BFAB, Dubs at the Lake, Offroad Tour 2023, Wolf Den State Park

This event was a blast, and we thank everyone who came out and made it such a success! We had an eclectic collection of participants from new to old and travelers from all over the US and even Canada to join in.

Our Offroad Tour was held May 20th, 2023, the day prior to Dubs at the Lake car show in McHenry Maryland. The day started the day at the Dubs and Dounuts event for a drivers meeting and what to expect on the trails. We had a 25-minute criuse to the Maryland State park office to register all participants and air down our tires in preparation for mud and rocks ahead.

The destination for the event was Wolf Den Run State Park and specifically the Huckleberry Rocks Area. First we hit the "Race Track" area which let our participants experience steep inclines, banked turns, blind drop offs, and shallow mud and water sections in a safe and easily recoverable area. Anyone uncomfortable with this section was urged to opt out before we got on the trails. We then headed deeper into the park via a rocky hill climb to get into the real stuff. About 1/3 into the trail we stopped at a section called "The Orchard" to park and have lunch. We swung open the tailgate of our B2BFAB Atlas project and extended the Thule awning to give cover while everyone enjoyed a bite. This gave everyone a chance to talk, further adjust, or check their vehicle, and also discuss some of the more challenging sections ahead.

The day was rainy, which meant mud and deepened water obstacles. This made for an all-around more challenging course which pushed our vehicles and driver skills to the next level. Despite a few mechanical issues and stuck vehicles needing recovery, our group persevered and emerged from the trails together baptized in mud. This community really is amazing, and again, thanks to all who participated, rode along, helped, shot video and photos. We can't wait for the next event!
