A newly promoted young manager was in the extreme debt. While still fixing her finances, Melissa's promotion tempted her to shop online. She enjoyed clicking add to cart, which led to huge purchases. Her friend Ruby advised her to stay with her mother and sister instead of renting a condo. Her mother constantly reminded her to be careful in her spending, and avoid buying unnecessary things. Because Melissa was stubborn, her bills accumulated. She failed to pay her rent and her car loan. Her situation worsened when her boss told her that the new management will have to replace all the employees, including them.

Melissa went home to her mother and apologized for always giving them problems. Melissa's condo was locked and her car was repossessed. Melissa's mother reiterated that she should control the money and not let the money control her. Her mother helped her to solve her financial issues, while her sister took her things from the locked condo. Melissa's mother advised her to be content with what she had and assured her that once she got through her problem, she would learn.
