Cheyenne Mountain Zoo welcomes 3 lemur pups

There is a growing conspiracy at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, according to a Monday news release.

In animal parlance, a “conspiracy” is a group of lemurs, and the zoo recently welcomed a trio of ring-tailed lemur pups to its Water’s Edge Africa landscape.

The pups, who have not yet been named, were born on March 20 to two different mothers, Allagash and Rogue. However, during a chasing incident, Rogue was separated from her offspring and rejected the baby when staff members tried to reunite them. Since then, Allagash, 12, has cared for her sister’s pup as well as her own, zoo officials said.
