We actually covered quite a bit of distance on this visit to the Alice Springs Desert Park. Sam and I were here in December 2023 and being summer it was super hot. Now the heat obviously had a few disadvantages however there was also some fringe benefits from the low 40's temps. The first benefit was that Sam and I had the complete park to ourselves... there wasn't another person in the park the whole time we were there! The second benefit was that the desert animals were super easy to see as they were all sitting in the shade - to the point that in some of the birds enclosures the birds were sitting beside us in the shade - check out the video and you'll see what I'm waffling on about!
