How Naihanchi and Sanchin were designed to support the practice of kokyu-ho/kiko. This information has already been posted, but I wanted a trimmed version I could share with people that focuses only on the practice of Naihanchi and Sanchin. In my opinion, this is the part of my shoshyuten video that really matters.
According to many Okinawan masters Naihanchi kata and Sanchin kata are fundamentally meant to teach correct posture in conjunction with the coordination of breath and intrinsic energy (ki/chi). I hope this video offers some insight into how this is accomplished.
Parenthetically it is worth noting that my Sanchin-dachi in this clip is a few inches too long and had been influenced by my practice of Tomari-Seisan (which uses what is essentially an elongated Sanchin-dachi).
