Farewell Ride to Penukonda Fort | KTM 390 Adventure & Super Meteor 650.
This ride was more than just a ride or journey—it was a farewell, a reflection of out time together, where we are in life.
A memory etched into our minds, a celebration of motorcycles, friendship, brotherhood, and open roads.
My friend of 14 years and (brother-from-another-mother) and I set off on a day ride from Bangalore to Penukonda Fort, marking his last motorcycle trip in India before he moved to another country, in true bikers' fashion.
My brother rode my KTM 390 Adventure, a bike built for long highway stretches and exploring unknown trails. I rode a Super Meteor 650, a cruiser that made every mile feel effortless with its smooth power and comfort.
We kicked off our ride at 7 AM, weaving through Bangalore’s morning traffic before hitting the open highways. The roads soon opened up, and the cool morning air made for a perfect start. Riding together, side by side, felt special—like reliving old times before life took us in different directions.
A great ride isn’t complete without good stops. We had our first coffee break at a highway café, sharing stories, cracking jokes filled with cuss-words, and soaking in the realization that this would be our last ride together in India for a long time. The coffee was strong, but the emotions were stronger.
By mid-morning, we reached Penukonda Fort, a historic place with centuries of stories hidden in its ruins. The fort, once a stronghold of the Vijayanagara Empire, was peaceful and hardly crowded—a perfect spot to take in the views and reflect on the journey ahead.
On our way back, we decided to switch things up and stop for authentic Korean food at a hidden gem of a restaurant. The mix of flavors, from spicy kimchi to savory salads, was the perfect way to refuel before the final stretch home.
This wasn’t just about the bikes or the destination—it was about the bond between brothers, the love for the open road, and the memories that would stay with us for a long time even after the engines were turned off. Though my brother is moving to another country, this ride was a reminder that no matter where we go, the spirit of adventure and the love for riding will always connect us.
🎥 Watch till the end for some emotional moments & epic riding clips!
