INFPs can demonstrate a wealth of behaviors that can seem perplexing to others observing them. At one moment displaying certain characteristics and in another displaying entirely different ones, they can be challenging to understand. This video examines some of the seeming contradictions in the persona of this Myers-Briggs Type Indicator type.
Additionally, here is a summary of the INFP’s cognitive functions using John Beebe’s Eight Function model, from the most conscious (Fi) to the least conscious (Ti):
1. Fi = Introverted Feeling = Hero
2. Ne = Extraverted Intuition = Parent
3. Si = Introverted Sensing = Child
4. Te = Extraverted Thinking = Inferior
5. Fe = Extraverted Feeling = Oppositional
6. Ni = Introverted Intuition = Critical Parent
7. Se = Extraverted Sensing = Trickster
8. Ti = Introverted Thinking = Demon
