Today our read aloud adventure book is called "Help Your Dragon Deal With Anxiety" written by Steve Herman. Whether we are young or young at heart, anxiety is an important topic that affects us all. There are so many things in our lives and in the world around us that we can’t avoid. These situations make us feel worried, anxious, stressed out and sometimes we even try to ignore them. Diggory Doo and Drew talk about different examples that could cause stress in our everyday lives. They even help us think about the things we can do to deal with our anxieties. Sometimes we need to pause, take a deep breath, step back, and see what is truly causing us stress and decide if our worry is manageable or if we need to ask for help. Sometimes we can manage these worries on our own but sometimes dealing with our anxieties can be hard to deal with by ourselves. If you notice that you can’t overcome your worries you should talk to a trusted adult like your parents, guardians, friends, teachers or even your doctor. Anxiety is a part of everyone's life. It is how we deal with the anxiety that will affect how we move forward. Big or small, take a deep breath, know you are strong, know you are not alone, know that you got this and take it easy, day by day.
