How to tension the Slackline with Soft Release – Step by step video tutorial
With this system you can put quite a lot of tension to your Slackline without spending a lot of money for pulleys. It's lightweight what makes it perfect for a travel kit. MUCH BETTER THAN primitive tensioning systems.
For the most basic rig:
2 shackles
1 line locker (Alu ring in this case)
2 clips
Soft release (6m in this case)
1 oval carabiner
Sling for second anchor point (I prefer this than the rigging plate)
And of course, never forget to protect the precious trees.
(Cost of whole thing- around 30€)
Depending of the size of your shackle, sometimes is necessary to tie something inside of it to create a base for the breaking clip.
I recommend 3-4 wraps on your soft release during tensioning.
Be careful placing the shackles in correct way so while realising the tension the webbing doesn't unscrew the pin.
I don't recommend to use the clip as a break while walking the Slackline. Use it only during the tensioning and remove it after that!
This system can be easily upgraded to gain efficiency. Using Hangover or whichever highline slider replacing the oval biner you can put 500kg of tension by yourself
At the very end one important thing. I DIDN'T INVENT THAT – I'm not that smart, I've just decided to prepare this tutorial for the community.
I've learned this thanks to Polish slackliners Janki Pe and Koszmarek. Janki was the pioneer of this glorious idea, showed it to Koszmarek who improved it and did very complex research measuring everything like in laboratory. You can find detailed article on his blog (only in polish: http://slackline-koszmarek.blogspot.c...)
Thanks for watching and enjoy the slackline!
