German Chancellor candidate Habeck: "The world won't wait for us" | DW News

On the occasion of US President Donald Trump's second inauguration, German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck responded to the US president's threat to impose trade tariffs. He says European companies should try to compete with the big American firms.

Habeck is the German Green Party's candidate for chancellor in the upcoming federal election.

All parties represented in the German Bundestag have received a written invitation for a 1:1 interview with their leading candidates in order to ensure equal opportunity. The concept for the interviews is the same for all participants. No questions or topics are coordinated with the parties beforehand. Further interviews with leading candidates will be published on this channel as and when they have been conducted.
