KUD DANCE: Kud Dance is a very popular folk dance of Jammu and Kashmir, mainly Jammu. It is a community dance of the state. Kud Dance is performed to prey to God Lok Devtas. This Dance is mainly performed during the rainy season in the night. In this dance form there is no barrier of age and sex. Men and Women both are performed in this dance.
There are many twisting and interesting movements in this dance. The number of the dancers are twenty to thirty. This dance is very rhythemic and used various instruments like Narshingha, chhaina, flute and drums. This dance form is generally performed by the farmers to thank to God for protecting their crops, cattle and children from natural calamities.
Now, this is very popular among the people for flaunting their Dogri traditional dance during the weddings, family functions and in the domestic or cultural functions.
