In this video, I restore a backsaw to perform just as well as modern made saws. This antique Disston saw needed new teeth so I filed the saw plate flat, filed new saw teeth using a saw file and saw vise and used a saw set to set the new teeth. I went with a geometry that allows the tool to cut well when ripping or crosscutting. Now this one backsaw is good for most fine woodworking tasks including making tenons and dovetails.
