Day 23 of our Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC) at NIM, Uttarkashi was filled with mixed emotions. After spending so many days at basecamp in the same tents with breathtaking views, it was finally time to say goodbye and move to hotel camp.
We had two batches leaving — an early batch and the normal batch. Many in the early group struggled with ankle twists, knee pains, and exhaustion, yet their determination was inspiring as they still made it to the end. Meanwhile, we pitched our tents and were treated with hot jalebis — much needed after a tough journey!
But the biggest surprise was yet to come — a campfire night! 🔥 Every trainee had to collect wood, and once the fire was lit, the celebration began. For the first time in this course, we had pure fun — singing, dancing, and forgetting all the exhaustion. It was the perfect way to end our journey at basecamp.
