Adams Morgan has long been one of Washington, D.C.’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods—a place where cultures, creativity, and community meet. In this episode, longtime residents and local legends share how the neighborhood’s identity has evolved over the decades while holding onto its inclusive spirit. Tony reflects on 40 years in Adams Morgan and the importance of preserving the neighborhood’s sense of purpose and diversity. Bill recalls opening Madam’s Organ in the early ’90s, when live music brought people of every background together under one roof. And at Perry’s, owner Saied Azali and drag performers India Larelle Houston and Sofia describe how a creative brunch idea turned into one of D.C.’s longest-running drag traditions, celebrating love, expression, and community every Sunday.
