On Joe Blower's farm, a rare oak woodland is being restored through community partnerships, invasive removal and careful thinning - bringing back birds, pollinators and a thriving ecosystem that will last for generations.
What started as happenstance has become a model of oak habitat restoration, where Blowers, his son, and local conservation partners at Oregon's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) work together to revive native species and reconnect a once-fragmented landscape.
By freeing long-suppressed oaks, planting native habitat and rebuilding ecological diversity, Blower's farm shows how conservation programs and dedicated landowners can transform a landscape and welcome wildlife home again.
