5. Maharashtra is home to five Jyotirlingas, which are considered the most sacred shrines of Lord Shiva. The five Jyotirlingas of Maharashtra are:
1. Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga: Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga is located in the Sahyadri range of Maharashtra, near the town of Pune. I
2. Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga: Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga is located in the town of Verul, near the famous Ellora caves.
3. Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga: Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga is located in the town of Trimbak, near Nashik. It is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva released the holy river Godavari from his hair.
4. Aundha Nagnath Jyotirlinga: Aundha Nagnath Jyotirlinga is located in the town of Aundha, in the Hingoli district of Maharashtra.
5. Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga: Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga is located in the town of Parli, in the Beed district of Maharashtra.
