GForce / Oberheim OB-X - Sound Bank '79

A fantastic release from GForce & Oberheim: A faithful modelling of the Oberheim OB-X, endorsed by Tom Oberheim himself. It goes without saying that they've done an excellent job with this polysynth emulation.

A bank of 45 patches for the 45 years since the OB-X was released. Drawing inspiration from the synthesizer sounds of the late 70's & early 80's, especially those found in documentaries, ident bumpers and music libraries.

GForce has included features such as macros and their signature X-Modifiers. These are excellent features which are very useful. They've been omitted in this bank because the goal of these particular patches is to recreate a playing experience and sounds similar to a hardware OB-X in the era it was released. There's no dramatic deviations from the original features and design. The internal effects are used sparingly, and when they are it's mostly very subtle.

This demo was recorded completely dry, with no external effects or processing.
