DARKEST HOUR - Bringing Order To A Crisis (Film Analysis)

In times of fear, uncertainty, and frustrating, we look to those who can provide clarity, open-mindedness, and decisive action. That is the subject of director Joe Wright's Oscar-winning biopic, Darkest Hour. Gary Oldman plays the iconic British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who assumes office at a pivotal point in WWII history. In this film analysis/video essay, we explore how the film's cinematography establishes the chaos as well as the order needed to resolve it, and how Churchill's character develops to face the impending danger of Hitler's Nazi forces.
