Penicillin is a type of antibiotic that can be used to treat bacterial infections. Really important - antibiotics can only be used to treat bacterial infections.
The main four types of penicillin are:
Natural penicillin (penicillin G)
Broad spectrum penicillin (amoxicillin and ampicillin)
Penicillinase resistant penicillin (flucloxacillin)
Anti Pseudomonas penicillin (pipercillin and ticarcillin)
