I'm just giving a basic lesson on the constant bass, or, monotonic bass in Open D Tuning and some licks and which bass goes with which chord when playing this type of blues. Some people call it a drone bass too.

The shuffle is a swing eighth so this exercise should help people who are beginners playing the shuffle in Open D.

Then I show some blues shuffle bass licks and screw up the timing on the 5 chord twice because my little buddy laying beside me is tickling my back with his jimmy legs while sleeping and I didn't want to stop the video :)
