Exploring the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia on our family caravanning adventure around Australia. After a big few days covering over 2200 kilometres and three states, we finally hit the Eyre Peninsula and now we can slow it down and enjoy this beautiful coast line.
We start by having an incredibly friendly dolphin encounter at the Whyalla Jetty. Then moving onto Cowell, we camped at the Cowell Foreshore Caravan Park and used it as a great base to try our luck at crabbing from the Cowell Jetty. After a few hours, we managed to pull up a few keeper sized blue swimmer crabs which we turned into dinner for the family.
Moving on from Cowell we stopped in to Arno Bay, just to break up the drive, stretch our legs and also because the Arno Bay Jetty is just worth stopping at.
We camped for a few night at Port Lincoln at an unpowered site with a fantastic view of the ocean and spectacular sunrise every morning. From here we checked out Lincoln National Park and spotted a large group of wild Koalas.
We made some friends at the park, who just happen to be fellow YouTubers, @markandshirley , they must have seen us fishing the jetty at the caravan park without any success and they kindly gave us some of their excess squid, which we turned into a great meal for the family. We are enjoying the company of Eshlyn’s parents and our time on the Eyre Peninsula.
